GeoConvention is looking for ambitious earth science and energy professionals and academic leaders to help lead GeoConvention 2024 as a Session Chair. Sign up to be a session chair and/or submit a session proposal by filling out the form linked above. Session proposals will be accepted through October 4, 2024.

2020 virtual program feedback
GeoConvention 2024 will again be hosted at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in the heart of downtown Calgary. The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre hosts live events, facilitating connections and promoting the convergence of ideas that may have never existed – taking inspiration from Wîchîspa (Win-Cheese-Pah), Guts’ists’i (Goo-tist-see) and Moh’kinsstis (Moh-gihn-s-tis), the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers.
I had several staff attend - all of us were in agreement that there was a lot of value for everyone.
I had a lot of clients of mine say they really liked the online format of the talks and that the portal was "slick"
My favourite learning event of the year!
Posters are good and provide lots of technical work on display. These can be viewed at any time. The sessions were excellent. Enjoyed the ability to watch whenever it made sense for me and in some cases get feedback from others, then watch a session.
I enjoyed the virtual experience. As a student, I would not consider attending an in-person conference due to travel cost and time, so having it online made it possible for me to attend.
I really appreciated the ability to attend virtually, and the ability to attend post conference! This is great for delegates who are busy with work commitments and can't always get away, and for delegates who do not live in Calgary!
I appreciate the on-demand option. When trying to watch presentations from my office there are distractions. I like being able to go back when it is a convenient time for me to listen to a presentation.
The format allowed interaction with people overseas which would not have been possible with a live event. I thought Geoconvention was excellent this year and was pulled together in a short amount of time under very difficult circumstances. I very much appreciate the time, effort and commitment from the organizers, volunteers and sponsors. Well done!

We are thrilled to move GeoConvention 2022 to a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual hosting to continue to inspire the geoscience community. We have re-imagined our conference experience to build on our international participation through the COVID years to a robust hybrid event, featuring the full in-person conference experience with simultaneous virtual execution. GeoConvention 2022 is excited to be back in-person to better allow for meaningful conversations, new introductions and for delegates to re-connect. GeoConvention 2022 will host an opening icebreaker after the keynote on Monday, June 20th, 4:30pm and a follow up networking event on the exhibit floor on Tuesday, June 21, 4:00pm. The details for associated luncheons are being worked on now and details for those events will be available soon.
