Notice

Invitation letters are only issued to paid delegates or presenters; please purchase your delegate pass prior to requesting a letter to obtain your password to access the invitation letter request page.  If there are any issues with your admission to Canada, your fees will be returned.

Please note that we will only issue invitation letters and cannot help with your application or with border services. It is your responsibility to apply for the appropriate visa with the appropriate documentation. We suggest leaving ample processing time for your entry visa. Current processing times can be found at the Government of Canada Immigration page.

Steps

No Abstract Submission:

  1. Register for the Conference via the button below (please note the exhibit floor only option is not a valid registration for an invitation letter to be issued)
  2. Your confirmation email will have a password so that you may access the invitation request portal, linked below
  3. Fill out the required information and submit your invitation letter request
  4. Send a copy of your visa application and your application number to info@geoconvention.com so we may alert IRCC

Abstract Submitted:

  1. Send an email to abstracts@geoconvention.com with the subject line: Invitation Letter Request
  2. Provide your abstract submission number for review
  3. Upon favorable review of your abstract, a reply email will be sent with a password so that you may access the invitation request portal, linked below
  4. Fill out the required information and submit your invitation letter request
  5. Send a copy of your visa application and your application number to info@geoconvention.com so we may alert IRCC

Please note the following:

  • Visa applications are considered on a case-by-case basis based on the information presented by the applicant. The onus is on the applicant to show that they meet the requirements for a temporary resident visa.
  • While a special event code has been assigned to the event, it does not offer any advantage to the applicant, in terms of a positive visa outcome.
  • The applicant must meet all the eligibility criteria in order to receive a visa.
  • GeoConvention provides a list of confirmed registrants to IRCC to show intent on attending; applying for letter without confirmed registration is not advised.
